Pictures from a European Adventure

There’s so much out there in the world, more than one could ever imagine. There are so many different ways of life that are lived everyday; so much breathtaking natural beauty; so much to explore and learn from. Below are some pictures from my first time traveling outside of the States that are from Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy in December 2010 and January 2011. I’m getting the traveling itch, so posting these pictures (it’s about time!) is soothing. Feel free to suggest your favorite European city in the comments! I’d love to know. Ciao!

Five Tips to Make Each Day Count

Don’t count every hour in the day, make every hour in the day count.

Express yourself

Paint Nite Creations

My boyfriend and I took a fantastic painting class, after not painting for years. It was pure fun.

Everyone has a creative side, and you don’t have to be a van Gogh to express that. Allowing yourself time to be creative opens the opportunity  to express yourself with activities you enjoy, and you very well may surprise yourself. There are plenty of ways to express yourself, including making music, painting, drawing, planting flowers, fixing cars, writing, or photography. And those are just a few, of course. Stimulate your mind!

Try something different

Tim Trapeze August 2013

My boyfriend, Tim, at our trapeze class in the summer of 2013. Exhilarating.

Whether it’s skydiving, shark-diving, trapezing, parasailing, volunteering at the animal shelter, sitting in on a new class, running a mile, cooking a big meal, or writing that novella, there are so many extraordinary things this world has to offer. There’s an infinite amount of learning and experiences to be had, and all you have to do is step outside of your comfort zone to open your life to rejuvenating, exciting adventures.

June 2010 NYC

Me acting like a weirdo as one of my best friends took my picture in Manhattan in 2010.

Everybody knows that an eye-tearing, stomach-aching laugh can bring immense joy to ourselves and those around us like like nothing else. As children, we laughed with ease. In fact, most of us seeked fun or funny things on a daily basis. As adults, we often need reminders to allow ourselves to be silly and see the humor in everyday situations. Bonus: laughter is also good for your health. Research shows that laughter may strengthen your immune system, and it reduces stress. Read More

Change of Seasons, the Ability to Read, and Phones

The tilt of the Earth’s rotational axis brings about three glamorous seasons (and one bitch of a season); reading is crazy and connects our human selves — seriously, understanding a bunch of weird-figured symbols is nuts; and phones — you wouldn’t be a modern-day human without one — and face it, it’s pretty much an extra body part now that entertains you and rescues you from awkward situations.

Las Vegas Highlights

Vegas Night Life

Las Vegas. Disney World for adults. Sin City. An addict’s dream land. I was fortunate enough to spend a few days in this flashy place, right on the Strip up in Caesars Palace. My purpose there was to attend the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on behalf of the magazine and website I work for, electronicproducts.com. I enjoyed CES, which was at the Las Vegas Convention Center and scattered about the Strip. I spent the majority of my mornings and afternoons at the show, mingling, snapping pictures, riding the monorail, and pretending I knew where I was going (somehow, I kind of did!). But when the sun went down and the moon came out, after my articles were written and I spammed my Twitter followers with pictures of dancing robots, huge TVs, and self-driving cars, I joined the buzzing crowds outside to explore my new surroundings.

Bellagio Water Show

I was very excited to see the Bellagio water show, which was fantabulous. Absolutely beautifully done. I was amazed how the shooting and swaying water was so in sync with the music. Read More
