Animal People on the Road

I found an old notebook today while cleaning out a cluttered drawer and came across some jabbering I wrote two years ago, comparing people in traffic to animals.

A swarm of angry hornets, buzzing down the highway.

Following the same direction, not wanting to be last, like a zeal of zebras.

Hands slamming on horns– snarling — starving wolves, each wanting to eat first.

Sly foxes, all wanting to outsmart the ones ahead.

Seeming to say, “I’m special and you’re not.”

Windows open, their music is better than yours.

Cars rattling like threatened snakes. “Don’t mess with me.”

Like horseshoe crabs, safe inside their shells.

Yes, good comparison. I like the swarm of angry hornets image.

I see you have a REAL problem with the commute, I figured I´d go read me some poetry and you where already ranting a year ago or more about people in the highways, nice. Funny thing, I never noticed until now that you have Google+ or if I saw it I probably didn´t give it a thought, and don´t know anything about it. For some time I saw I could get that option, do you have to pay for it? what´s with this thing..you recommend it? Expand the social media?
P.S: Got you, now I understand what you said in one of your comments about your interesting job, you work at the Hearst Corporation which I had to google it up, one of the largest diversified media and information companies.(That´s what they say in their front page, must be true if you´re writing about NASA) That´s quite something I might even apply myself, say half-graduate, half-career soldier, half-blogger-writer, I can write a piece on people´s half´s. Why they don´t follow through with their passion. Be in the column of psychology. In a more serious note, I do have some knowledge and talent to write about quite a range of issues,so there you go,social media it´s the way to go, another thing that I´ve learned and I didn´t even have to step out of my house to find a prospective employer, just siting down digesting my food with some water and browsing through blogs. I think my only friend is called Mackintosh. That was a rant, have to get out of the house more, like right now actually.

Rant away if you must, it’s okay.
About Google+, yes, I find it useful, especially if you work in the media industry/must have an online profile. Even if you don’t, it’s a good way to showcase your experience and interests. It’s free and it’s a simple way to connect with people and put yourself out there. If you want to find others in your field, or you want to become more involved with one, I think the best social media profile to have is LinkedIn. If you like writing and want to make a career out of it, you should reach out to as many people as you can (in person and online), definitely do some freelancing to build up a portfolio, keep writing on your blog, and put in for jobs you know you’d like. Honestly, a lot of it is about networking and getting to know people, and social media is great for that.
Thank you so much, once again, for reading my work! 🙂
I’ll make a visit to your blog real soon.
